• NCL Innovations is resource center of NCL that supports, promotes and champions the cause of technology innovations within NCL. Key activities include building an eco-system for technology innovation, developing new routes to market and delivery mechanisms , setting up facilitating institutional mechanisms, resourcing etc (Premnath, 2007 – current)
• The Intellectual Property Group at NCL is a service group that aims to help scientists and students strategize, protect, secure, valorize and extract value from intellectual property emerging out of their work while also championing the cause of inventions, inventors and the spirit of invention within NCL. This is probably India’s largest and most efficient patent filing group amongst non-profits. (Premnath, 2008 – current)
• CSIR-Tech Pvt Ltd is a technology commercialization, spin-off and investment company. It facilitates the journey of scientific technology to a product/service by connecting technology providers and entrepreneurs/investor. It is a bold experiment to see if technology commercialization can be accelerated in India by leveraging entrepreneurial energies and private capital. (Premnath, 2011 – current)
